Christian couple backlash exposes leftist hypocrisy

In Canberra, Australia, a Christian couple have said that if gay marriage is passed, they will divorce (on paper) but continue being married in God’s eyes. Whatever you think of their decision, it is fast exposing the hypocritical attitudes of the left-wing media.

Although much could be said, here are two exposed contradictions in the leftist story.

Hypocrisy no 1: impact
A claim that leftist media outlets have promoted to help gay marriage along has often been “other people getting married won’t affect you”. However, despite this couple divorcing having no impact on any other person, this couple’s decision has been hated, condemned and judged, by media outlets all over Australia. See the hypocrisy? Gay marriage is supposedly fine since it doesn’t affect you, yet straight couple divorcing –despite not affecting anyone else– is still wrong because they disagree.

Hypocrisy no 2: intolerant demands for ‘tolerence’
The second hypocrisy this has exposed is that of intolerant demands for ‘tolerance’. To the Canberra City News, Mr Jensen said, “My wife and I, as a matter of conscience, refuse to recognise the government’s regulation of marriage if its definition includes the solemnisation of same sex couples,”. The homosexual backlash is not because he is intolerant, but because he doesn’t actively affirm their lifestyle choices. Ironically, they aren’t affirming his either. Beyond that, he has been referred to by one news source as guilty of ‘bigotry’, simply because he disagrees with and will not participate in any institution that binds homosexuality to the biblical institution of marriage.

So what do we do?
The left will continue to lie, tell stories, judge and condemn, but apparently they’re not haters.

The Bible tells us how we must respond, in Ephesians 5:11 “Take no part in the unfruitful works of darkness, but instead expose them.”
